Sweet & Crunchy Caramel Popcorn

INGREDIENTS

  • 12-13 cups popped popcorn
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup golden syrup (or light corn syrup)
  • 1/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Prepare Popcorn:
    • Place the popped popcorn into a large, buttered bowl.
  2. Make the Caramel Sauce:
    • In a heavy saucepan, combine the butter, golden syrup, and brown sugar.
    • Stir well and heat over medium heat until the mixture comes to a boil.
    • Add the sweetened condensed milk and continue to simmer, stirring frequently, until the caramel reaches the soft ball stage. To check, drop a small amount of the syrup into cold water; if it forms a soft ball, it's ready.
  3. Combine:
    • Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla essence.
    • Carefully pour the caramel sauce over the popcorn, stirring to coat evenly.
  4. Cool & Enjoy:
    • Allow the caramel popcorn to cool before serving.
