Serena's Butter Icing

INGREDIENTS

  • 100g butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 ½ cups icing sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk (approximately)
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder (optional, for chocolate icing)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Cream Butter: In a mixing bowl, beat the butter until creamy.
  2. Add Icing Sugar: Gradually add half of the icing sugar, beating until smooth. Then add the remaining icing sugar and beat until fully incorporated.
  3. Add Flavour: Mix in the vanilla essence. If making chocolate icing, add the cocoa powder and beat until combined.
  4. Adjust Consistency: If the icing is too thick, add a tablespoon of milk and beat until you reach your desired consistency.
  5. Decorate: Spread the butter icing over the cooled cake. Enjoy licking the beaters afterward!
