Homemade Liquid Soap (Using Soap Nuts)

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup deseeded dried soap nuts
  • 6 cups water
  • 10-15 drops essential oil (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Add soap nuts and water to a pot and bring to a gentle boil.
  2. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 45 minutes.
  3. Strain the liquid and let it cool.
  4. Add essential oil, if desired.
  5. Reuse soap nuts for another batch by simmering with 4 cups water for 30 minutes and combining with the first batch.
